I sort of fell into the DJ business by accident. In the fall of 1998, I began my college career at the University of Kansas, where I joined a fraternity. To host their parties the fraternity had invested in quite a public address system.
Having long been a lover of music, I had quite a CD collection, so I inadvertently became the sort of "house DJ".
It wasn't long before I was asked by a friend to fill in his DJ spot one night at a local bar called Duffy's. He knew I had been using the fraternity's equipment for a while and that I could read a crowd. I ended up being pretty good and at that and picking up a DJ shift.
While at Duffy's I met some bartenders who later moved on to different bars around town and dropped my name to DJ a Service Industry Night. That went over well and I bought my own equipment.
From there Sonic Stimuli has grown leaps and bounds.
I graduated college and always kept Sonic Stimuli as a side project.
I've spent time as the promotions coordinator of a local radio station (KRBZ, 96.5 The Buzz) and as an audio visual technician for a company called VAE.
So even in my professional life, I've never been far from music and sound reinforcement systems.
I've stayed DJing through all of it, running Sonic Stimuli, doing countless weddings at places as quaint as the local civic centre, up to full scale country clubs and everything in between.
Sonic Stimuli has provided New Year's entertainment for J.B. Stout's and for the Brooksider's New Year's celebrations. Sonic Stimuli was also the entertainment choice for the Bank of Blue Valley's Holiday Party in 2006.
For your next event, I hope you'll experience the unrivaled customer service and quality entertainment available to you by choosing Sonic Stimuli as your entertaiment provider.
